Can I make murgh makhani (Indian butter chicken) using garlic powder instead of fresh minced garlic?
Would it change the flavor/texture of the dish considerably? I REALLY don't want to drive all the way to the store just to get a bulb of garlic. Should I just suck it up and go to Kroger, or can I use garlic powder and get a decent result?
Also--I have everything else (the fresh ginger, cream, etc.)--it's just the garlic that I'm missing.
Yes, you could...but it would be worth the trip to go get the fresh garlic. NOTHING compares to that.
