What everyone wants the recipe for cold winter days? You guessed it, chili. Chile is one of the most favored recipes for those forced to endure the long months of cold during the winter. After all, there is nothing better than having a hot bowl of chili to warm you after a long day at work in cold air. One of my favorites types chicken chili is that it is very easy to make and is perfect for those on the road are in need of a quick hot meal. In just a few simple steps you too can enjoy great taste Hardy chicken chili. Just follow these tips and you will enjoy their own chile chicken today.
Let's start by buying out collecting all the necessary tools and ingredients needed for this recipe. Here's what you need: 8 cups chopped yellow onion, equivalent to about 6 onions, 1 / 4 cup olive oil and a little more to be added with the chicken, 1 / 4 cup minced garlic (8 cloves) 4 red peppers, cored, seeded and chopped large, 4 yellow peppers, cored, seeded, and large chopped, 2 teaspoons chili powder, 2 teaspoons ground cumin, 1 / 2 teaspoon ground red pepper or to taste, 1 / 2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste, 4 teaspoons kosher salt, plus over chicken, 4 cans (28 ounces each) whole peeled tomatoes, pureed plum undrained, 1 / 2 cup chopped fresh basil leaves, 8 chicken breasts parts, bone, skin, and fresh black pepper.
When you have the ingredients ready for the chili, you can start by sautéing the onion for about 15 minutes until clear. That's how you know when they are cooked enough. Then add the garlic, pepper, chili powder, cumin, red pepper, salt and pepper and continue to sauté for another 5 minutes. While these ingredients are cooking, cut the tomatoes and add to pot with the basil. You can then add all ingredients except for chicken and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Prepare the chicken to coat lightly with oil and season to taste. You want to place the chicken on a baking sheet cooking in the oven at 350 degrees for approximately 30 to 40 minutes until it falls off the bones. When the chicken is full, independent and cut into small pieces and add to the pot along with all other ingredients. Let simmer for about 20 minutes, then serve.
