APPLE CAKE SLICE
1 Granny Smith apple
1 1 / 4 cup of any type of pancake mix
1 / 2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
2 teaspoons canola oil
1 cup low-fat milk

Lightly coat a griddle or skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat.
Peel, core and finely slice of apple slices.
In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the pancake mix. Stir until ingredients are evenly moist. (Small More packages are good pancake mix is ​​difficult.)

1 / 2 tablespoon lemon juice

Peel the onion and cut into small pieces.
Peel the potatoes and cut into 1 inch cubes.
Boil potatoes in medium saucepan until smooth. Drain the hot water.
Add cold water to cover potatoes.
Melt butter over medium heat in a skillet or pan.
Cook onion in butter until it turns yellow.
Drain water from potatoes and add them to the pan. Stir and cook until absorbed the butter.
Add broth, curry powder and lemon juice.
Cook until the potatoes have absorbed the broth.

Serving Size: 1 / 2 cup.
Yield: 6 servings.

Corn bread

1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour use
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 egg
1 / 4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup skim milk

Hot oven to 425 degrees. Grease 8 - or 9-inch square pan.
As cornmeal, flour, sugar and baking powder in large bowl to blend. Stir to mix the ingredients.
Break the egg into a small bowl and beat with a fork to combine white and yolk.
Add egg, oil and milk to the mixture flour. Mix until ingredients are well mixed.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until firm to the touch or a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Serving Size: 2 inches square.
Yield: 12 servings.

Cheesy Corn Bread. Add cheese 1 / 2 cup grated cheddar cheese with milk.

SPINACH AND MEAT CAKES
1 pound ground beef or turkey, 7% fat (93% fat)
2 bunches spinach - washed and chopped (can substitute 1 pound bag frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained)
1 / 2 small onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 / 2 teaspoon salt
black pepper to taste
3 cups brown rice

Preheat a frying pan (without oil).
Combine all ingredients except rice in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
Form mixture into 12 small balls. Place in a pan and flatten into patties with a spatula.
Cook over medium heat until cooked on both sides.
Serve over rice.

Size Serving: 2 pies.
Yield: 6 servings.
Time: 25 minutes.

2 cups apple slices to place on the cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, mix sugar, oil and eggs together. Beat well.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking
soda. Add to egg mixture and mix well

Add the pieces apple and applesauce to the batter. Stir to mix.
Spray a baking pan with vegetable oil spray and pour in the mixture. Bake until done, about 1 hour.
Place apple slices on top of apple pie and serve.

Serving Size: 1 piece.
