Can you make curd with red chili powder?


I was researching on how to make curd and I ran across and article that used red chilies to make curd. I don't have any chilies but I have red chili powder. I was going to add it to regular homogenized milk to see if I can make curd. I haven't tried it yet but I was wondering if this could work?

Receipe for curd rice cccccccccccc

Ingredients:-

Rice - 2 cups
Fat free yogurt - 3
Fat free sour cream - 1 tbsp

Hot water - 1/4 cup
Fat free buttermilk - 1 small cup

Shredded cucumber - 3 tbsp
shredded carrot - 3 tbsp
shredded ginger - 2 tsp
Green chillies - 2 (finely chopped)
Raisins - 1 tsp
Grapes - 10 or 15 ( cut it into half )

Salt to taste
For seasoning:-

Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cashew - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
curry leaves - few

First pressure cook rice adding 6 cups of water. When the pressure is released, open the cooker and mash the rice, if necessary add the hot water and mash it. Add the above said, yogurt, buttermilk, cucumber, carrot, green chillies, ginger, salt, grapes, and sour cream and mix everything well. Add water if necessary to adjust the consistency of the rice. It should be creamy. Take a pan, pre heat oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters add cashew, asafoetida powder and curry leaves and raisins and fry it till golden brown. Pour it on top of the rice. Mix it well. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Enjoy the rice with more molaga (curd chilly).

Ingredients:
• 2 large Bananas (peeled, thinly sliced)
• 2 large Oranges (peeled, with pipe removed)
• 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
• 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
• 140 ml Plain Yogurt
• 2 tsp Sugar
• 1 tsp Salt
How to make Fruit Curd:
•Mix the sugar, pepper, chili powder, salt and curd together.
•Add the bananas, oranges to the above-made curd and mix together for 2 minutes.
•Fruit Curd is ready to serve.

Chili powder vs. Chili seasoning?


The chili is simmering on the stove, but my question is if there is anything i should add to it if i used chili POWDER instead of the required chili SEASONING? The recipe did call for garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, so i'm thinking it's probably alright. The only thing i can think of is cumin.

The best way to figure out if it needed anything would of course be a taste test as it cooks, but here's the catch... i'm vegetarian :)

Any advice is appreciated!
My dad is making me some homemade vegetarian chili, my job is to make the meat chili for the rest of the bunch! ;)
As the chili is already cooking, my question isn't whether or not to use the seasoning, it is what i need to do to make it taste the same as if i did.

You're right, cumin is sometimes used besides the spices you mentioned, but you don't need it. A few shakes of Tabasco is nice, and some diced jalapenos to give it a different kind of spicy. Some people just pour in cayenne and chili powder but if you want it spicy you need a good blend of different types of hot.
