Problems fixed!

This supplier did have a problem in 2008 with some bad BLUE jars. As far as I know this affected the BLUE JARS only and the problem did not appear in the GREEN RED or FROSTED jars. The curing problem has been corrected with all jars and the supplier was very courteous about replacing the jars (I even kept the bad jars for other uses). I love the vivid colors and for the price, you cannot find anything like them.

These spice jars look great, only problem is the lids do not fit very tightly and probably will affect the quality of the spices over time.

labels remove blue surface

The bottles look beautiful, however when you try to remove the label from the bottom it peels off some of the blue coating. I wrote to the company and told them I would still keep the bottles but thought they should know about the problem with the labels. They did not reply to my note.

While I agree that they should have mentioned that these are PAINTED on colors on the jars, I have to disagree that "they are flaking all over the place". Yes, they may not last as long as an actual blue glass shaker would have, but they seem robust enough and the color doesn't seem to be scraping off left and right. The paint flakes are TINY pinpoints flaking off, not as bad as the previous reviewer made it sound. They are good quality, not real high quality stainless lids, but they work, and I like the plastic insert shakers. They are very, very attractive too, and are slightly larger than most other spice jars I've ordered so I like that as well. I love the square shape too, adds a bit of decorativeness to it along with it being more economical to store lots of them next to each other. I wish they were actual blue glass and the stainless was a bit higher quality, but overall nice bottles.

Shipping was very fast. I bought 4 containers of sprinkles, Red, Dark Green, White and Blue. The red and green were fine but either the blue, white or both must have been kept near some other spices, because they had a strange taste to them. Nothing terrible but it was noticeable.

I hand make these with super absorbent polymer water gel crystals and the best fragrances I can locate. These are non toxic, environmentally safe and can be used for a very long time by simply recharging the crystals with a little distilled water when they start to dry out, be careful and do not add too much water and over expand the crystals.

Disappointed with shipping

I ordered 2 of these jars. One came intact and the other came in 8 small pieces (broken during shipping). The box that it came in did not give any indication that a ceramic jar was inside. It did not say FRAGILE on it anywhere! Inside there was just a small air pocket in the big box that gave no protection for the jar. I am very disappointed with this shipping.

My New Salt Jar

I am buying Real Salt in bulk now, and needed a Salt Pig for the counter. But I just couldn't seem to find one I liked. I wanted it closed, not with an open hole. That's convenient, but with summer flies coming in and out not too sanitary.I already have Le Creuset cast iron and stoneware so when I came across this item I jumped on it. I wasn't sure until it arrived that I had chosen the right size, but it's perfect! Holds about a cup of salt. The lid has a rubber seal which is airtight. That made it slow to remove so I took it off. To keep an herb mixture fresh, you would want to leave it on.This would be a perfect crock for pate. I wouldn't mind having a few more of these.A little pricey, but I used the 4-3 when buying several needed items. So this was a bonus.Love it!

Excellent product; NOT "Made in France"

We recently purchased several of these canisters/jars in various sizes. They are outstanding, but come with labels saying they are "Made in Thailand." Unless Thailand is now part of France, the Amazon review is incorrect. In sum - a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for: excellent quality.
